We from PPHE Hotel Group are looking for a process driven individual to join our team as a key partner within the finance department, driving operational efficiency and providing financial support. We are looking for a Financial Accountant with a strong financial acumen to join us in this exciting phase of the business.  
 
About the role:
The Financial Accountant is a trusted key position for the Dutch finance team, based in Park Plaza Victoria Amsterdam. This role is responsible to ensure there is a robust financial control environment and compliance with corporate policies & procedures. The role supports the Dutch Business Controllers in there oversight and financial responsibility for the six hotels. It is a key position in the day to day communication with both the centralised transactional finance team, based in London, and the local operational teams in the hotels.
 
Your responsibilities:
Reporting and Analysis: Provision of valuable insight that drives performance and continuous improvement

• Production and coordination of monthly management & financial reporting
• Liaison and support to the centralised transactional team, Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), to ensure accurate, efficient and effective processes
• Signals differences on AP and AR ledgers and liaison with relevant shareholders to pick this up
• Provision of high quality management information and insight

Financial Control: Completion of control activities and monitoring & review of performance against agreed key financial controls & KPIs

• Preparation of monthly balance sheet reviews and analytical review, ensuring adequate back-up for postings and accuracy of balances
• Supports in the month-end process of the hotels
• Supports in the audit process with regards test of controls and the preparation of documents
• Review, monitoring and approval of hotel internal audit checks including income audit, cashiering and goods receiving controls
• Reviews the clean-sold and tourist tax reconciliations of the hotels
• Complies with Corporate policies and procedures and adheres to recognised international accounting standards

We are looking for a trusted business partner who:

• Completed a HBO / WO level education in the field of finance, business administration, economics, or hotel management
• Has at least 2-3 years of work experience in a similar position
• Has fluency in both Dutch and English language
• Actively takes the lead and provides a positive role model for leadership
• Demonstrates a continuous business improvement focus by challenging the way things are done
• Communicates effectively to achieve desired impact and influence in a range of situations
