Your role

As the Sous Chef, you closely work together with the F&B Head Chef to ensure the optimization of food quality and the daily kitchen routines. You do your utmost to exceed our guests’ expectations of their breakfast to room service or various meeting & events within our banqueting department.

What do your responsibilities look like?
  • Coordinating and managing daily activities in the kitchen
  • Preparing a wide range of dishes
  • Support in making the planning
  • Guiding students
  • Assist in developing new menus for the innovative F&B concepts
  • Cleaning the work environment
  • Ensure all rules and guidelines will be followed according to the HACCP code
Our ideal candidate is a real team player and always seeking for better results. You are already used to working under high pressure due to your previous work experiences in a similar role within Food & Beverage. You bring positivity to the work floor, which makes the kitchen performance even better!

In short, you have:
  • A relevant degree in F&B supplemented by SVH teacher degree;
  • Affinity with Food and Beverage, hospitality is your hobby!
  • 2-3 years of work experience within, or closely related to, Food and Beverage;
  • Excellent English skills (both verbal and written), Dutch skills is a pre;
  • A proactive and flexible work posture;
  • Very strong communication skills, motivating and giving proper feedback is your absolute core quality;
  • A quality and price conscious way of thinking;
