Job overview

Under the general guidance and supervision of the Reception Manager, and within the limits of Policies and Procedures, is responsible for registration and rooming of hotel guests in a courteous and efficient manner, reservations, cashiering and the provision of efficient service during the stay of the guest. Finishing the financial administration at the end of the day and prepare the reception in administrative way for the morning shift.

  • Executes given sales strategies to maximize occupancy and rooms revenue, and will sell all hotel facilities.          
  • Ensures that all guests receive a warm and courteous welcome upon check-in, check-out and during their stay. Uses guest name at least three times during each guest interaction.
  • Works according to hotel standards and according to schedule, which will be mainly night shifts.
  • Rooms guests efficiently and courteously.
  • Informs the Reception Manager, or Duty Manager of  all VIP arrivals.
  • Checks, and modifies where necessary, billing instructions and registration details to ensure clarity, completeness and legal requirements.
  • Has full knowledge of the contents of the hotel's credit policy and ensures it is strictly observed where it relates to Front Office.
  • Handles cash transactions (including foreign exchange) accurately according to hotel standards and maintain integrity of personal float.
  • Checks accuracy and completeness of guest bills on check-out.
  • Answers the telephone within three rings in a polite manner and takes bookings when required. Handles reservations correctly, with all relevant details.
  • To attend any meeting or training sessions which are required by Management.
  • Prepares the administration and information what need to be shared for the following day.
  • Counting and closing the cashier for ‘End of Day Report’.
  • Sort and control all  transactions done in the guest outlets.           
Performs related duties as assigned by Management.
Is fully knowledgeable with the hotel's fire and bomb procedures.

Coordinates the emergency evacuation of guests in event of fire, bomb threats and other emergency situations.

Makes sure that the work area is kept clean and tidy at all times.

Responsible for reporting immediately to Reception Manager or Duty Manager regarding anything to be considered a health and safety hazard.

Maintains appropriate standards of dressing, hygiene, uniforms, appearance, posture and conduct.qualifications & requirements

  • Positive attitude, excellent communication and service skills.
  • Speaks and writes fluent Dutch and English.  A third language is preferred.
  • Is able to prioritize.
  • Experience with Opera PMS system is a plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Word ,Excel and PowerPoint is a plus. 
Hotel Management or other relevant Hospitality education.

Work experience in a 5-star hotel is a plus.
