Are you an enthusiast who is willing to sell every meeting room, bedroom and square meter in our hotel? Is it your mission to make the perfect offer for your clients? We are a young and dynamic team who enjoys working together with one sole mission: to convert a maximum of our leads into definite bookings and organize the perfect event. 

As an Assistant Groups, Conference and Events Manager you will coordinate and administrate all group bedroom bookings effectively, as per the group reservations procedure. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Adhere to the events and group yield policy in order to maximize revenue
  • Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel, and manage the departments’ adherence to achieving that strategy
  • Understand the competitive market place and implement approaches to ensure the hotel stays ahead in the local  market
  • Ensure team members are developed effectively and generate a culture of high quality standards for relationship building, customer service, selling techniques, and billing and processing contracts
  • Build strong relationships with customers in order to gain full understanding of their needs and work to serve the customers effectively
  • Assist in the recruiting, managing, training and developing of the Team
  • Participate in the organisation of hotel promotional activities.
To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, skills and values that are as following:
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate a high-performing team positioned to exceed targets
  • Analytical skills to understand key business indicators, competitive trends and develop approaches to these challenges
  • Excellent selling capabilities and the ability and desire to coach selling techniques to team members

  • Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations

It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
  • Previous experience with management or supervision in the hotel/leisure sector
  • Knowledge of the hotel property management systems
  • Knowledge of Delphi FDC and OnQPM
  • Knowledge of Amsterdam market
  • Previous experience in the same or similar role
