The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for managing the implementation of the hotel and restaurant sales and marketing strategies and achieving budgeted top line revenue for the hotel and restaurant.
The role is responsible for maximizing potential revenues in each market as well as segment and ensuring the most optimal business mix and return on investments. Responsible for increasing production with existing accounts as well as finding new business for both the hotel and restaurant.
The DOSM will work closely with the hotel team and Accor/Swissôtel chain departments (Revenue center, Sales, E-commerce etc.), to develop strategies to maximize Revpar, grow market share and brand awareness.
The DOSM is further responsible for the development of the annual sales & marketing budget.
Ideal candidate has knowledge & experience in the Amsterdam market, has its own network, easily built relationship with target customers, will be organized and detail oriented,
The DOSM needs to have the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner, both written and verbally.

Main duties:
Drive total hotel & restaurant revenue and take responsibility for the achievement of budgeted revenue streams.
Develop and execute sales & marketing strategies through preparation of a strategic sales plan.
Implementation and administration of the Sales and Marketing budget and the establishment of annual individual sales goals.
Ensure understanding of the competitive landscape, local and feeder market dynamics, and changing customer needs to ensure property success.
Ensure that all sales related activities support customer satisfaction, retention and new business development goals.
Operate within departmental budgets through effective cost controls and well managed schedules
Set departmental targets and objectives, work schedules, budgets, and policies and procedures
Maintain excellent communication and work relationships in all hotel & restaurant areas and with external customers and suppliers
Ensure that the relevant departments have full knowledge of all available promotions at all times.
Ensure that the hotel is registered and participates with corporate travel programs
Proficient in property management systems
Ensure close overview of RFP process and related systems to ensure maximum exposure and participation
Participation in Manager on Duty shifts if required
Creates business offers
Maintain Social media
Proactively generate free publicity for hotel and restaurant
Responsible for in house communication for guests
Keep information and pictures up to date for own website and OTA’s
Keeps track of business relations and guest contacts on file
Aligns tasks, questions and complaints with other departments
Joins projects or focus groups for the improvement of product and service
Join network communities

HBO-marketing/communication /tourism is pre;
Extensive working experience in S&M position in 4*/5* hotels;
Experienced in Social media handling
Knowledge of Opera;
Fluent in English and Dutch;
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written);
Customer & Guest focus
People & result oriented;
Hands on mentality; Able to work well in a team and alone;
Flexible, organized, creative and enthusiastic.
