• As part of the Data Insights team, you will contribute to the group's new data structure and strategy.
• You are a confirmed data engineer who loves working on complex data architectures and use cases. You are strongly result driven and are open to work both with cutting edge technologies as well as legacy systems, at different steps of the data lifecycle.
• You are a collaborative and pragmatic problem solver and can dig into problems to understand what solutions make sense for our hotels. You are motivated by linking business needs and technical solutions.
• Ideally already familiar with the hotel industry, you are aware of its main use cases and main data-oriented areas: Operational Performance, Finance, Revenue Management, Distribution and Online Reputation.
• You are willing to transform available data from different sources into insightful models that drive decision-making.

• Data engineering: data warehouse and data pipelines
• Support the development of our new data platform (Google Cloud) to make it the one and only repository of data for the Group
• Develop ETL and API scripts using programming language (Python, SQL, Java, C, C++)
• Develop source to target mappings, design data models and schedule data load processes
• Monitor the system performance by running regular tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new features, and making recommendations on performance tuning and optimization on the data systems
• Directly engage with and provide architectural support to business and technology partners
• Create and review logical and physical data models
• Define development standards for data flows in and between different applications
• Maintain data architecture, data flows, and data models of the Business Intelligence (BI) tool
• Work with and deliver results in an agile environment
• Contribute to the group's data governance activity by consistently documenting data architecture updates, processes and pipelines
• Assist junior members on prioritization and tracking of tasks
• Data science tasks: depending on your profile and evolution of the projects
• Data-mining activities and creation of reports
• Clean and process raw data, correlate different types of data and recognize patterns
• Start exploring machine learning / AI

• Academic degree in Data Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science or related fields
• Solid experience in developing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud based solution
• Relevant programming skills (Python, SQL, Java)
• Evidence required of self-managed projects and assisting more junior members
• Previous experience on hospitality data use cases, working with Property Management System data, will be a strong plus
• Full working proficiency in English
• Already being based in the Netherlands is a plus
